Who is eligible to have child care costs taken into account?

A lone parent who works at least 16 hours per week, or a couple both of whom work at least 16 hours per week, or one works and the other is disabled, who have children aged up to 15 years old (16 if disabled) cared for by a person or organisation registered under the Children’s Act. Alternatively children aged between 8 and 15 (16 if disabled) cared for on school, or local authority premises, either before or after normal school hours are also eligible.
